Shamans

Inspired by the artist’s two and half years in meditative retreat in upstate NY, this series of portraits of shamans from various traditions was made in recognition that there are many paths to the realization that reality is both what it seems and otherwise.

Seeds

This series began during a period of depression in 2019. Though dark, the work is symbolic of renewal. The oval composition suggests a seed or egg, while the skeletons repose in the fetal posture. Seemingly inert, the seed contains within the potential for new life.
