Edward Rossel is an artist, illustrator and teacher based in Miami. His most recent body of work is inspired by extensive meditation practice and explores the overlaps between abstraction and figuration.

 

Winner of the Betty Laird Perry Award for Emerging Artists, and the Tsadra Foundation Scholarship for Advanced Contemplation, Edward Rossel received a BA in philosophy from Tufts University, BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and his MFA from Florida International University. In 2016 he entered into a two and half year meditation retreat at a Tibetan Monastery in upstate NY. Since leaving retreat he has maintained a private art practice and is currently working towards a degree in Art Therapy.

Primarily a painter, Edward’s work draws on traditional and modern techniques, digital manipulation, personal and found photography.
